Fort George Railway up and running for Thanksgiving!
The Fort George Railway will be pulling out of the station this weekend!
Saturday October 6th 2012 from 12 noon to 4 pm
Sunday October 7th 2012 from 12 noon to 4 pm
Monday October 8th 2012 from 12 noon to 4 pm
The Fort George Railway Station at The Exploration Place In Fort George Park
Free all weekend long (but if there are line ups you will have to detrain and line up again for multiple rides)
The Little Prince has had all his repairs done (two new steam injectors) and Engineers John and Nick are fully certified! Conductor Steve will be suited up and waiting for all of you at the station at noon.
“It has been a long process to work through,” said Tracy Calogheros CEO of the Exploration Place AND The Fort George Railway. “The Safety Authority have been wonderful, our sponsors and City Hall have been supportive and understanding throughout and we are now ready to share our success with the public!”
The train rides take approximately 15 minutes per run and will be free all weekend as a thank you to all those people who have been so patient this year. The ONLY thing that could get in the way would be terrible weather. If it looks dubious, call the Museum first at 250 562 1612 to make sure we are running. Otherwise, listen for the whistle and come down for a ride!
Dinky No. 1, also known as The Little Prince, turned 100 years old this year and we are so happy to be able to finally celebrate that milestone with everyone.
