The Ted Williams History Hall

History Hall Gallery

The Ted Williams History Hall contains several different interactive spaces—One of which simulates an actual billiards hall environment, complete with a billiards table brought over on the BX steamer. Check out the cork boot marks from early loggers while you play.

'Behind Bars' is a history of prisons in Prince George dating back to 1821. Sit inside an authentic jail cell from the old jail; experience life in a 6 x 7 ft enclosure! A Carrier traditional button blanket is also included in this gallery, on loan from Parks Canada. This amazing piece is from the Bear Clan of the Wet'Suwet'en First Nation.

Visit our historic photo gallery and browse our online collections database on one of the two computer stations located in this Hall.

And soon to come, a photo and map display telling the story of the Georges as well as the Native village at Fort George and the history of their transfer.
