March 14 – 18
Primary (Grade K-2)—Jurassic Island ($190)
This week is all about Dinosaurs! We’ll be learning about our prehistoric friends, and the science of paleontology. Combine creativity and imagination to unearth facts about the creatures of the distant past, find out more about what scientists do with the bones they find and how they piece together puzzles, and think about what it would be like if scientists brought dinosaurs back to our world today! Learn about fossils, and create your own. Explore our museum’s paleo collection, and meet some of the creatures that have descended from the dinosaurs in our Biome. This will be an action-packed week that young dinosaur lovers won’t want to miss!
Intermediate (Grade 3-7)—Zombie Science Survival Camp ($190)
Join our horde of scientists and use your “braaaaiiiins” to survive a zombie invasion! We’ll be combining scientific principles and concepts like anatomy and engineering with practical skills such as shelter building, fire safety, team skills, renewable energy sources, navigation and more! All activities and subjects will be age-appropriate so that no one (including the instructors!) gets scared. This is a great week of camp for kids who want to expand their scientific knowledge with creativity, imagination, and science!
March 21 – 24
*4-day camp; no camp on Good Friday, March 25
Primary (Grade K-2)—Superhero Science ($152)
Become a caped crusader, and have a blast while learning the science behind your favourite superheroes! Build super gadgets, learn about the laws of physics, and put your super senses to the test as you discover the truth behind super powers. Whether it’s Iron Man’s magnets, the water of Aquaman, or The Flash’s super speed, we’ll use science to learn more about the world around us while learning about the worlds of our favourite heroes. Animals all around us have their very own super powers too!
Intermediate (Grade 3-7)—Myth Busters ($152)
Wonder, predict and explore as junior scientists, and try your hand at busting some of our culture’s most popular myths. From science fiction to “true science,” test the stories myths are made of. Kids will discover for themselves what is true and what is false, or if the truth lies somewhere in between. This week will show you how using science and classical experimentation can be exciting, and that you don’t need a high-tech workroom to be a real myth buster!
