100 Years of the Prince George Fire Department

As the city of Prince George celebrates its 100th birthday so does The Prince George Fire Department. Known now as Prince George Fire Rescue Service, we are celebrating 100 years of firefighting in Prince George.

Frozen Flame Book Launch – July 1, 2015

To mark such a special occasion the Prince George Fire Department will be will be showcasing their history in a hard-cover, 100 page pictorial book called “Frozen Flame, A history of the Prince George Fire Department”.  This book will exhibit everything from the history of the department, to the fires that made news in our community; both big and small.   As well as demonstrating the history it will also showcase events, fundraisers, and other activities the Prince George Fire Department has taken part in.

The launch date for “Frozen Flame, A history of the Prince George Fire Department” will be Canada Day 2015 at the Exploration Place. In conjunction with the book launch, Exploration Place will be opening an exhibit on “100 Years of Fire” that will display the fire departments history during a three month exhibition.  Everyone is invited to come to The Exploration Place to celebrate 100 Years of Fire! We look forward to seeing you!

The exhibit closed September 2015.
