Temporarily closed due to COVID-19.

All memberships have been placed on hold effective from our closure date on March 13, 2020.

Unfortunately, we are unable to provide any refunds on memberships. However, we want to assure you that you will not lose any time on your membership due to this closure, and members will have access to special events in our satellite location. Your membership at The Exploration Place supports us as a Northern BC non-profit organization and registered charity whose mission is to preserve our local history and foster lifelong learning in the areas of science, technology, heritage, and culture.

Making a Difference

By purchasing a membership at The Exploration Place, you are supporting a Northern BC non-profit organization and registered charity whose mission is to preserve our local history and foster lifelong learning in the areas of science, technology, heritage, and culture.

Canadian Association of Science Centres (CASC)

If you show your valid membership card from any of the participating Canadian science centers, you will be provided with FREE admission. Certain restrictions may apply. A current list of participating science centers can be found on the CASC website.

Association of Science-Technology Centers

The Exploration Place also has a reciprocal admission arrangement with participating members of the ASTC.

Parking + Accessibility

Parking is always free!

 • Visitors to The Exploration Place have access to three large parking lots in Lheidli T’enneh Memorial Park. There are four designated wheelchair-accessible spaces directly in front of the entrance. Ramps are available to reach the sidewalk.

• Entry and exit doors are automated. There are wheelchair-accessible bathrooms and a designated family bathroom with a change-table.

• An elevator lift is available between floors with a wheelchair available to borrow for those who need it, free of charge.

• The Little Prince Steam Engine is equipped with a wheelchair-accessible train car.

• COMING SOON: Sensory-friendly times for individuals and families living with neurodiverse or accessibility needs. These scheduled times will ensure all visitors with sensory processing needs can enjoy The Exploration Place in a comfortable, welcoming environment.
