The Exploration Place’s hours of operation are changing for the season.
Media Release:
The Exploration Place is strategically adjusting its hours of operation for the season. Beginning Tuesday, January 23rd, the museum will welcome guests from Thursday to Monday, focusing on days that historically see greater visitor engagement.
This decision is a proactive step to enhance operational efficiency during the slower winter season. This adjustment will also allow the museum team to conduct maintenance and installations that are not possible while visitors are in the building and for programming staff to dedicate time to developing programs and events for the upcoming busy summer season.
School programs and field trips will continue uninterrupted as the museum will open its doors for pre-scheduled educational activities each weekday, including Tuesdays and Wednesdays. All school visits are offered free of charge to Northern BC schools, thanks to generous sponsors at the Drax Foundation.
Origins Kitchen will also maintain catering operations throughout the week, ensuring culinary services remain available to the community for events, meetings, and special occasions.
The museum anticipates returning to a full seven-day schedule for the summer, the busiest time of year due to tourism and summer Science Alliance Camps.
The Exploration Place is guided by a newly articulated mission and strategic plan, reflecting the institution’s dedication to innovation, education, and community connection. Developed with guidance from the community, this plan maps out the next five years, with The Exploration Place continuing to serve as the heart of discovery and learning in Northern BC.
Stay tuned for updates on special events and programs taking place during the museum’s new operating hours and into the busy summer ahead by visiting The Exploration Place’s events calendar at www.theexplorationplace.com/programs.
