Outside Advertising Guidelines

At The Exploration Place, our video billboard is primarily used to promote our own exhibits, programs, events, and initiatives. We are excited to partner with local businesses and organizations for advertising opportunities; however, we maintain guidelines to ensure our mission remains at the forefront.

Advertising Space Allocation

  • The majority (70–80%) of ad cycles are dedicated to promoting The Exploration Place’s own events, exhibits, and programs.
  • Outside advertising may be limited to maintain focus on museum-related content.

Eligibility for Advertisers

  • Advertisers must align with the museum’s mission and values, such as:
    • Supporting education, culture, science, or family-friendly activities.
    • Promoting local or regional community events, businesses, or services.
  • Ads promoting activities or content that conflict with the museum’s values (e.g., offensive or inappropriate material) will not be accepted.

Ad Duration and Rotation

  • Ads are displayed approximately every 15 minutes, 24 hours a day, depending on the current playlist length.
  • Advertisers may purchase time slots for 1–4 weeks at a time, with renewals based on availability.

Content Requirements

  • Ads must be submitted as high-resolution static or video files that meet the billboard’s technical specifications.
  • Ads must include clear branding, such as the advertiser’s name or logo.
  • Advertisers are responsible for ensuring all content is accurate, free of typos, and compliant with copyright laws.

Approval Process

  • All ads are subject to approval by The Exploration Place.
  • The museum reserves the right to reject ads that do not meet quality standards or align with its mission and values.
  • For all ads we design, we will provide a proof and up to two rounds of edits based on your feedback. Additional edits can be accommodated for an additional fee.

Pricing

  • Rates are determined based on ad length (e.g., 30-second or 60-second) and duration of the campaign.
  • Optional ad creation services are available for an additional fee.
  • Rates listed above are introductory rates and are subject to change.

Feedback and Review

  • Advertisers are encouraged to share feedback after their campaign concludes.
  • Advertisers will receive detailed reports from The Exploration Place at the end of their ad run, including the total number of times their ads aired and visitation statistics.
  • The museum will periodically review the ad program to ensure it supports organizational goals and community needs.
