Tanning fish skins using bark or fats (“fish leather”) has created informal learning opportunities in history, culture, climate change, biology, chemistry, language, and anthropology. Join us as Janice Baker, a third-generation Canadian with Norwegian roots, and married to Lheidli T’enneh Elder Les Baker, shares insights from Norwegian and Dakelh traditions of using moose and salmon, both traditionally and today.
