Camps

Science Alliance Day Camps teach kids about STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math) in a fun, “hands-on, minds-on” interactive setting. Through experiments, activities, games, presentations, guest speakers, field trips, and more, we have gotten local kids excited about science and learning since 1996.

Through hands-on activities, nature walks, games, and guest speakers, campers will learn about the local flora and fauna, the importance of conservation, and how the environment shapes the lives of plants and animals. They’ll explore rainforests, wetlands, grasslands, and marine ecosystems, understanding how all living things are interconnected. Whether learning about the salmon lifecycle, the role of beavers in forest health, or how human activity impacts BC’s natural spaces, this camp will spark a deep appreciation for the incredible biodiversity found in British Columbia!

July 14-18 - Dive Into the Deep Blue

Theme: Ocean Science & Marine Life

Get ready to embark on an exciting adventure beneath the waves in this week-long camp all about the wonders of the ocean! Campers will dive into the mysteries of marine life, from the tiniest plankton to the largest whales, and explore how oceans shape our planet. Through hands-on experiments, creative art projects, games, and interactive lessons, they’ll learn about ocean ecosystems, marine animals, and the important role the ocean plays in our environment. From building coral reefs to investigating ocean currents, this camp will inspire campers to become ocean stewards and appreciate the beauty and complexity of our world’s seas.

July 21-25 - Thinkers and Tinkers

Theme: Introduction to Engineering & Problem-Solving

Calling all future engineers! This week, campers will dive into the exciting world of engineering, where creativity meets problem-solving. Through hands-on projects and team challenges, campers will learn the basics of structural, mechanical, and electrical engineering as they design, build, and test their own creations. Whether constructing a bridge that can hold weight, designing a rollercoaster for marbles, or building a working circuit, campers will experience the engineering process from start to finish. Get ready for a fun-filled week of innovation, teamwork, and discovery, where campers will not just learn how things work—they’ll make them work!

July 28 - August 1 - Bugs, Birds, Bees, and Other Pollinators

Theme: Pollination Science & Biodiversity

Welcome to a buzzing week of exploration where insects, birds, and bees take center stage! Campers will dive into the fascinating world of pollinators, discovering how these tiny creatures play a huge role in our ecosystem. Through hands-on experiments, outdoor activities, games, and art projects, campers will learn about the critical relationship between pollinators and plants and how these interactions impact food production, biodiversity, and the environment. Get ready to explore, observe, and even become a pollinator expert!

August 5-8 - Super Science Heroes: Unleash Your Inner Superpower (4 day camp; no camp August 4)

Theme: Science and Superpowers

Get ready to tap into your inner superhero as we combine science and superpowers in this action-packed week of discovery! Campers will explore how real-world science can help create powers that are straight out of comic books and movies. Whether it’s building a super suit, creating invisibility cloaks, or mastering gravity-defying experiments, this camp will blend fun, creativity, and hands-on science experiments to turn campers into science superheroes! Through physics, chemistry, engineering, and biological sciences, they’ll uncover how heroes’ abilities can be explained by real-world science and meet our local superheroes along the way.

August 11-15 - Science Past, Present, and Future

Theme: The Evolution of Science – From Ancient Discoveries to Future Innovations

Step into a time machine and journey through the greatest scientific discoveries of the past, explore the cutting-edge technology of the present, and imagine the incredible possibilities of the future! Each day of camp will focus on a different era of scientific discovery, with hands-on experiments, games, guest speakers, and exciting STEM challenges that bring the past, present, and future of science to life!

August 18-22: Animal Science

Theme: Biomimicry, Animal Engineering, Zoology, Animal Adaptations

From the slowest sloths to the fastest falcons, animals have evolved some incredible ways to survive—and build! In this hands-on, curiosity-fueled camp, kids will explore the wild world of animal adaptations and engineering. We’ll look at how strength, speed, camouflage, and endurance help animals thrive, and how creatures like beavers, bees, and birds build complex shelters using nature’s blueprints. Campers will investigate the science behind these amazing abilities through experiments, games, guest speakers, and creative challenges—then put their knowledge to work by designing their own animal-inspired inventions!

August 25-29 - Prehistoric Pioneers

Theme: Paleontology, Dinosaur Exploration

Get ready to travel millions of years back in time to explore the world of dinosaurs and prehistoric life!
