Dinosaurs of BC
British Columbia might not be the first place you think of when you picture dinosaurs, but the province has secrets still to tell. Dinosaurs of BC, a travelling exhibition from the Royal BC Museum, brings those secrets to life.
Rooted in the groundbreaking palaeontology research of Dr. Victoria Arbour, Curator of Palaeontology at the Royal BC Museum, this exhibition takes visitors on a journey through the incredible diversity of dinosaurs that once roamed this province. From ankylosaur and tyrannosaur tracks to beautifully preserved marine fossils, the evidence is out there—it just takes determination, expertise, and occasionally a helicopter to find it.
At the heart of the exhibition is Ferrisaurus sustutensis, the first and only dinosaur species unique to British Columbia. Alongside this remarkable reconstruction, visitors will discover what real palaeontology looks like, remote mountainside digs, power tools, and all, and learn how fossils go from field discovery to finished exhibit.
