Timing & Preparation

• Please arrive approximately 10 minutes before your program is scheduled to begin. Out of respect for the group arriving after you, we are unable to extend the programming time for groups arriving late.
• Ensure all details on your booking confirmation form are correct.
• Consider a pre-visit to The Exploration Place. This can help you in planning your field trip and is FREE upon presentation of your Ministry of Education Teacher Card.
• Organize your students into groups, each with an assigned adult supervisor, before you arrive at The Exploration Place.
• Review behaviour expectations for the field trip with your students and supervisors.
• Please note: No outside food is permitted in the galleries. Catered lunch from Origins Kitchen is available. Catering fees will apply. If you would like to bring your own food, you have the option of booking our boardroom for use while your students eat.

Payment, Fees & Cancellation

• Payment (if required) is due on arrival at The Exploration Place. Please refer to your booking form & invoice
• No deposit is required to book; however, a fee will be charged for cancellations with less than 2 weeks’ notice
• Free school visits do not include catering fees
• All prices and policies are subject to change without notice

Required Supervisor/Student Ratios

The Exploration Place is an extension of your classroom, and teacher supervision is required at all times. We also require additional adult supervisors.

• Please note that additional supervisors above the required supervisor/student ratio will be charged a rate of $9.00 each
• Supervisors are responsible for classroom management and behaviour guidance and must remain with their students at all times
• Failure to provide required number of supervisors will result in a fee of $50.00 per supervisor not in attendance
• Failure to adequately supervise your group may result in the group being asked to leave the Museum.

Supervisor/student ratios required are:

• 1 adult / 5 students Kindergarten – Grade 3
• 1 adult / 10 students for Grades 4 – 7
• 1 adult / 15 students for Grades 8 – 12
